Clarity under pressure.

When the experience is frustrating people every day, the first job is to understand what hurts.

Start where the frustration lives.

At my current company, I worked on app-experience issues that were putting client relationships at risk. These were not abstract usability problems. They were getting in the way of the work people needed to do every day.

Find the part that changes the day.

I like damage control because it brings the real problem into focus. What is making this difficult? What do people need to do next? Which change would remove the most friction? Those questions make a complicated situation easier to act on.

The reaction that stayed with me.

Seeing clients’ faces light up when we showed the improved experiences was the best part. The work mattered because it made something they lived with every day feel better. That is the kind of clarity I want to create.

Fixing the experience is also a way of rebuilding trust.
